Dow Jones Stocks With A Big Safety Margin

  1. Howard3/14/2018

If the stocks had been listed in order of "Safety Margin", this would have been an excellent post. Instead, they're ordered by their annual gain/loss, dividend included. So, for example, IBM has the 4th best "Safety Margin", but it is listed 2nd to last because it's price has fallen in the past year.

There are a lot of different ways the stocks could have been ordered, but when the title of the blog post is "Dow Jones Stocks With A Big Safety Margin", then ordering them by "Safety Margin" is the only logical way.

  2. Can you describe what constitutes your Safety Margin and how it is calculated. Is there a study which shows the validity of using that when picking investments or timing the purchases?
