Insurer Allstate Increases Dividend By 8.7%

The American insurance group Allstate Corp. (NYSE: ALL) is distributing a $ 0.50 quarterly dividend to its shareholders. This is an increase of 8.7 percent compared to the previous quarter. Extrapolated to the year, the group pays $ 2.00. At the current price level of $ 92.46 (as of February 8, 2019), this corresponds to a current dividend yield of 2.16 percent.

Shareholders will receive the next payout on April 1, 2019 (record date: February 28, 2019). Allstate has paid a dividend to shareholders since 1993 ($ 0.09 quarterly). The company, based in Northbrook, Ill., Was founded in 1931. The company is the second largest insurance group for private consumers in the US and is known for the slogan: "You're in good hands".

In the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2018, Allstate generated sales of $ 9.48 billion (previous year: $ 10.06 billion). Adjusted net income was $ 430 million, compared to $ 762 million a year ago. The company is the second largest insurance group for private consumers in the US. The IPO took place on 11 June 1993.

The stock is listed on Wall Street and has been there since the beginning of the year with 11.90 percent in the plus. The market capitalization currently amounts to 31.8 billion US dollars (as of 8 February 2019).
