A ratio that measures the volatility is the beta ratio. Stocks with a low beta ratio fall or rise lower than the market. They are less risky.
There are no really safe dividend stocks. All stocks are volatile and the risk for a dividend cut is truely available. As equity investor, the full amount of your money changes with the value of your assets. They could fall or rise.
