5 High-Quality European Dividend Payers

When I read all these articles about investing strategies and look at the moves from big gurus, I see Europe as a dominant investing target.

As you might know, the ECB plans to embark on a bond-buying stimulus program totaling upwards of $1 trillion that will run through September 2016.

Improving growth prospects and upcoming stimulus efforts should investors consider European stocks; more specifically, we want to focus on high-quality, dividend-paying stocks that conservative investors may want to gain exposure to in an effort to geographically diversify their portfolios.

Buying abroad make sense in some way. I've published some interesting articles around this topic in the past.

Below are five fundamentally-sound sound European dividend stocks that can help beef up your portfolio’s overall yield:

The Best Internet Of Things Dividend Stocks You Should Know

Everybody is talking about the internet 4.0, the internet of things (IoT). It means that every device and technical gadget or tool is cross linked to each other.

The total is already in kids shoes and should become a multi-billion dollar market within the next years.

Today, I like to show you which dividend paying companies can benefit from this new trend. Attached are my five top results in detail. In addition, attached is a nice list of interesting non-dividend paying stocks from the IoT Theme.

On the first view, there are a lot of companies from the semiconductor and network industry who should generate money from the connectivity of devices. But on the second view, software houses like SAP or Oracle should also grab a big piece of the new cake.

I've not listed companies who produce devices like Apple or maybe Nike or Under Armour who make fitness apps.

You may also like my articles about dividend paying stocks from the technology sector.

16 Incredible Stocks Converting Growth In Pure Return

5 Top Dividend Paying Growth Stocks with Big Returns on Assets
Growth is wonderful but makes only sense when the company has a high return on assets.

It's a massive money creating strategy to take cash and upscale a high returning business.

Today I've discovered some growth stock ideas with double digit returns on assets and operating margins with low price and debt ratios.

These are my criteria in detail:

- Large Cap
- Positive Dividend Yield
- Debt to Equity under 1
- Expected 5-Year EPS Growth over 5 percent
- Past 5-Year Sales Growth over 5 percent
- Forward P/E under 15
- 10 Percent ROA and Operating Margin

There were exactly 16 stocks that met my tight criteria. I'm also impressed by the sector diversification. A broad range of stocks from completely different industries stopped with these restrictions but technology stocks still dominating my results.

Technology is not the same. There are old-techs and new-tech companies. The first category delivers "commodities" for the following, new companies. Oracle, Microsoft and AT&T are such investments.

Below are my five favorites from the results, you can also find a table with the full results attached. I hope you enjoy my work and get more stock trading ideas. My focus is dividend, value and growth driven.

Technology Giant Oracle (ORCL) Becomes A New Stake In Our Portfolio

The markets are hot priced and we must accept that there are no cheap bargains available on the market.

On the latest trading day of the month, I decided to purchase a new holding company for the Dividend Yield Passive Income Portfolio.

It was the technology stock Oracle. Like Microsoft, Oracle dominates the application software market for business clients. Databases are core products of Oracle.

Earnings and Dividends of Oracle (ORCL)

The company is not a well-known dividend grower because it invested much money into big acquisitions within the recent years.

Acquisitions were the main growth driver which boosted sales to a total amount of $37 billion compared to $10 billion a decade before. Earnings increased by a factor of 3.7 during the same period.

I love technology stocks because of the high cash amounts and the strong growing cash flows. Most of the big technology giants started to give money back to shareholders and I’m pretty confident that Oracle will also give back some parts of his wealth.

I purchased 40 shares at $35.20 which resulted in $1,413 total investment amount. The new stake will not deliver high dividends due to the low payout of Oracle.

In total, the stake should bring around $17 per year but has great potential to grow over the next years. The current dividend payout ratio is at 30 percent.

More interestingly is the cheap valuation of Oracle, measured by a forward P/E of 11.12. With long-term growth perspectives, it’s in my view a solid stock for the portfolio that could deliver growth possibilities at an attractive price.

Most of the big technology companies are real underperformer this year. Oracle is up 12.28 percent year to date but did not outperform major indices. The Dow is up 19.71 percent and the S&P 500 hit the 25 percent recently.

--------------------------------------
For readers who are new to the matter and my dividend growth philosophy: I funded a virtual portfolio with 100k on October 04, 2012 with the aim to build a passive income stream that doubles each five to ten years. I plan to purchase each week one stock holding until the money is fully invested. The total number of constituents is expected at 50 – 70 companies and the dividend income should be at least at $3,000 per year.
--------------------------------------

The full portfolio performance amounts to 11.1 percent. That’s an underperformance compared to the major indices but the major goal is not to make quick money in strong rising markets. The aim is to create a long-term orientated portfolio that doubles its income each 10 years.

The underperformance is also reasonable to the slow purchasing process and high cash amounts over the past year which was part of the strategy.
