15 Dividend Contenders With Over 20% Return on Equity and Return on Investment

Dividend growth stocks with very high returns on equity and returns on investment originally published at long-term-investments.blogspot.com. A solid investment delivers also solid returns over the time. Dividend growth is not the only criteria for a good investment. There are also many dividend growth stocks outside with low or negative return on investments and return on equity ratios.

Today I screened the Dividend Contenders Database by stocks with high return ratios. I fixed the 20 percent level in order to get the best results.

Only 15 companies fulfilled both, a return on equity as well as a return on investment over 20 percent. The difference between those two ratios is that the return on investment does not include the leverage effect. A corporate with high debts will automatically generate high returns on equity. The second ratio is a performance measure that looks only at the investment by dividing the investment return by the costs of the investment.

One High-Yield is below the results and 10 stocks got a buy or better rating by brokerage firms. Leverage is the key for high returns in my screen. As you might see in the attached sheet, the debt ratios are modestly high but in the end, the investor will pay a higher price for a leveraged company.

11 Great Dividend Growth Stocks With Low Debt

Great dividend paying stocks with low debt ratios originally published at long-term-investments.blogspot.com. Dividend growth is wonderful but it does not mean a good return in the end. Out there are also stocks that hiked dividends over 10 years or more but they delivered only a 3 percent annual return of which 2 percent are explainable to cash dividend payments.

A good dividend growth stocks is a pick that delivers adequate returns far above the expected inflation rate. Nobody knows which stock can give you this but one critical factor is the amount of debt. A low leveraged stock has more possibilities to grow in an easy way.

Today I would like to share some great dividend stocks with low debt ratios. Great dividend stocks are those stocks that have delivered good growth and high returns combined in the past.

I used a restriction of a debt to equity ratio of 0.5 percent. Eleven stocks fulfilled my criteria of which six are recommended to buy.

17 Cheap Dividend Contenders With Buy Ratings And Double-Digit Growth

Cheap Dividend Contenders with high growth and buy ratings originally published at long-term-investments.blogspot.com. Dividend growth and passive income strategies for normal investors is the core content of this blog. I personally create these articles to share my thoughts about good dividend paying stocks.

The underlying aim is to build a portfolio with high-quality dividend stocks that hike dividends in the future and boost your passive income. If they pay a good dividend and they grow, the share price must follow one day and reflect the corporate success.

Today I would like to present some dividend growth stocks with 10 to 25 years of growing dividends and buy or better ratings. These are my criteria in detail:

- 10 to 25 years of consecutive dividend growth
- Cheap forward P/E of less than 15
- EPS growth for the next five years over 10 percent yearly
- Buy or better rating by brokerage firms

Seventeen stocks fulfilled the above mentioned criteria of which one pays a high yield over five percent. Two companies have a strong buy rating.

20 Cheap Dividend Contenders With Real Low Debt Figures

Dividend Contenders with low debt and cheap price ratios originally published at long-term-investments.blogspot.com. Dividend Contenders have raised their dividend payments over 10 years in a row but not more than 25 consecutive years. There are over 200 stocks with such an impressive dividend growth history but not all of them are really good. Every stock has a something that an investor loves and hates. The perfect stock does not exist.

Today I would like to screen the Dividend Contenders category by cheap stocks (forward P/E below 15) with the lowest debt ratios. For passive investors, it's very important to own low leveraged growth stocks because they can expect further dividend hikes. If you purchase them at reasonable prices, you can increase the possibility for a good return.

Twelve of the 20 cheap Contenders with very low debt to equity ratios have a buy or better rating and four yield over three percent. Many insurer and banks are on the list. The financial sector is very strong.

16 Top Dividend Contenders From Abroad

Foreign Dividend Contenders originally published at "long-term-investments.blogspot.com". Everybody seeks for great opportunities on the stock market. If your equity base is not big enough in your home country, you need to look abroad for investment opportunities.

Today I like to show you all foreign Dividend Contenders (stocks with a dividend hike history between 10-25 years) with an U.S. Listing. 16 stocks fulfilled my criteria of which one is a High-Yield and nine are currently recommended to buy.

Hasbro: Stock Holding Purchase For The Dividend Yield Passive Income Portfolio

For readers who a new to the matter and my dividend growth philosophy: I funded a virtual portfolio with 100k on October 04, 2012 with the aim to build a passive income stream that doubles each five to ten years. I plan to purchase every week one stock holding until the money is fully invested. The total number of constituents is expected at 50 – 70 companies and the dividend income should be at least at $3,000 per year.

--------------------------------------

In order to increase the number of stock holdings and the current dividend income of the Dividend Yield Passive Income Portfolio (DYPI), I decided to buy shares of the toy maker Hasbro.

I purchased 30 shares at 44.09 which resulted in a total purchase amount of $1,327.

Hasbro provides children's and family leisure time products and services worldwide. Its product offerings encompass various toys, including boys' action figures, vehicles and play sets, girls' toys, electronic toys, plush products, preschool toys and infant products, electronic interactive products, and creative play and toy-related specialty products; and games comprising action, board, card, electronic, trading card, and role-playing games.
The current dividend yield of the company amounts to 3.63 percent and the P/E ratio has a value of 17.64. Due to expected growth of 8.47 percent for the next year, the forward P/E is at 13.78.

Hasbro is a Dividend Contender. The company managed to raise dividends over a period of 10 years without any interruption.

Earnings and Dividends of Hasbro (HAS)

In addition, the company is a global player. Around 44 percent of sales come from abroad. Rival Mattel generates around 30 percent of sales from abroad.
The new stake will boost my dividend income by $43. The total dividend income is expected at $1,847.15. With around $47,215 in cash on bank accounts, I should be possible to reach the aim of a $3k dividend income by the end of the year.

Portfolio Performance (Click to enlarge)

The full portfolio holdings are up 7.39 since the date of funding – October 04, 2012. Due to the slow purchase process and the high cash amount, the portfolio performance is only at 4.46 percent. It’s a long-term dividend growth policy I follow.

Here is the income perspective of the DYPI-Portfolio:
