Warren Buffett's Buys And Sells Surprisingly These Dividend Stocks

When it comes to dividends, Warren Buffett won't dish them out -- but he will take them.

Buffett has for years maintained a strict no-dividends policy at Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) (BRK.B). The conglomerate has paid only one dividend during his tenure, in 1967, and he has joked that he "must have been in the bathroom" when the decision was made.

"The question is about evaluating Berkshire when it doesn't pay any dividends," the billionaire said in a 1998 lecture at the University of Florida Business School. "And it won't pay dividends, either. That's a promise I can keep. All you get with Berkshire stock is that you can stick it in your safe deposit box, and every year you take it out and fondle it."

While Buffett won't distribute dividends to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders, he has no qualms about collecting them from others. Most of the companies in his investment portfolio make regular dividend payments.

Attached you will find a list of Warren Buffett's latest stock holding buys and sells. Airlines are a major buy on Warren Buffett's shopping list.

For sure, financials, energy and media stocks are also long investment for the investment guru Warren Buffett.

11 Canadian Dividend Stocks You Should Consider For Your Dividend Growth Portfolio

I'm a big fan of dividend growth stocks because they delivered me solid returns and a growing passive income over the recent years.

My main focus was on U.S. stocks, which is generally good because the American capitalism works fine but outside the US are also good stocks with a predictable business and stable growing dividends.

This week, I look at companies in Canada that have had a history of growing dividends, but more important have the capacity to continue to grow these dividends in the future.

A key measure of this sustainability can be observed through the payout ratio, which is the ratio of dividends paid to either cash flows or earnings.

A company paying out too high of a percentage in dividends is likely unable to continue to do so in the future. Attached are 11 of my top picks from the results.

I hope you can find there some new ideas. Please share your thoughts about the results. Thank you.

Warren Buffett Buys Surprisingly These 9 Top Dividend Stocks

Warren Buffett is one of the most respected investors on the market. When he invests, it’s mostly a guarantee for follow investors to make money but as we have seen in the past, it’s often not true.

These 11 Top Yielding Stocks Have A Nearly Secure Dividend

I started a screen in order to hunt for the most guaranteeing dividend paying stocks.

I wish to concentrate on bigger, more diversified organizations in the U.S. because of their inalienable quality and solidness. Next, I will utilize three profit related criteria to choose several dividend all-stars.

To start with, I will choose only those organizations with dividend yields of 3 percent or more. By the way, the sustainable of the dividend payments are also in focus of my research.

It doesn't make sense when a company pays its investor one or two years and then cuts the income stream for the following once – I will screen for companies with a dividend coverage ratio of no less than 250 percent.

The dividend coverage is characterized as the earnings in relation to the dividend payments. The higher the ratio, the lower the dividend payouts and the higher the dividend coverage should be.

Good companies, like Dividend Kings, can pay stable dividends or let grow when despite earnings are falling by 50 percent due to high dividend coverage.

At last, I will search for stocks with a reputation of raising their profit payouts over the long haul. I will search for a five-year normal dividend growth rate of not less than 3 percent every year.

Attached are my 11 results of which five are highlighted in detail. I hope you find some values in my work and the current screen. Thank you for reading.

These are my favorites from the results…

Warren Buffett Buys Surprisingly These 8 Dividend Stocks (WMT, GM, IBM, VZ ...)

Warren Buffett is one of the most trusted investors in the world. Recently, he came out with his 13F Filling which informs about the recent investment activity.

I studied Warren's latest buys and sells. My thoughts are clear: He invest into calbe and telecom stocks. Below is a small overview of his latest purchases. In addition, I've implemented a detailed view on his latest dividend buys for you.

In total, Warren bought 13 stocks of which eight pay dividends. The highest yielding company was the telcom company Verizon followed by the car maker General Motors.

His total portfolio value hit the USD 107 billion benchmark and around 65 percent of his assets are invested into four companies (Wells Fargo, Coca Cola, American Express and IBM as well).

45 percent of his assets have a relationship to the financial sector. Insurance stocks have made him rich in the past but I think those shares were only a strong cash source for further investments.

Buffett is a great investors with a fantastic sense for good investments but everybody should develop his own investment style.
