Warren Buffett’s Latest Stock Picks And His Biggest Portfolio Holdings

Warren Buffett’s latest dividend stock picks and his big portfolio picture originally published at long-term-investments.blogspot.com

Everybody loves Warren Buffett and when he releases his portfolio statements, all investors jump on this paper and try to figure out what he is doing.

In this article I will summarize the latest stock buys and sells of Warren Buffett's Bershire Hathaway and his latest portfolio overview.

Within the recent quarter, Warren made only 13 trades of which nine come from the long side. He bought two new companies and increased seven additional stock holdings in his portfolio. The new stocks were Dish Network and Suncor Energy.

The only stake he sold completely was the newspaper publisher Gannett.  Kraft Foods, Moody’s and Mondelez were reduced within the recent quarter.

Nothing changed much in Warren's Portfolio

In total, Warren did not change much. The stock with the highest influence to his portfolio pocket change was the bank U.S. Bancorp. The Oracle of Omaha increased the position by 27.37 percent which resulted in an portfolio impact of 0.69 percent.

You can find a full list of his latest transactions below. Ten of his 13 latest stock moves pay dividends and the yields are between 0.33 and 3.84.

Warren Buffett concentrates money on big dividend companies

Back to Warren’s biggest portfolio positions. Warren concentrates most of his wealth on four assets: Wells Fargo, Coca Cola, IBM and American Express. These fantastic four represent around 67 percent of his full portfolio value. On the attached list, you can see more details about his 20 biggest stock positions. Financial Services, Consumer defensive stocks and technology are the biggest sector in which Warren Buffett loves to invest.

20 Most Hated Dividend Stocks From The Services Sector

Most sold short services dividend stocks originally published at "long-term-investments.blogspot.com". The services sector is a big part of the economy and the financial markets. Roughly 850 companies have a relationship to the sector – That’s around 13.3 percent of the overall market by number of constituents.

Today I like to show you which services dividend stocks are most hated within the financial industry. Investors hate such stocks by selling them short. They believe in a falling stock price and want to profit from it.

My screen includes only mid- and large capitalized companies with a float short ratio of more than 5 percent.

The 20 most hated stocks have a float short ratio between 8.79 and 29.31 percent. Gamestop is the most sold company. Seven of the results have a current buy or better rating by brokerage firms.

Warren Buffett’s 29 Best Yielding Dividend Stocks

Warren Buffett - Berkshire Hathaway Q4/2012 Fund Investing Strategies By Dividend Yield – Stock Capital, Investment. Buying dividend growth stocks is a popular and proven way to make money. A great investor who followed this approach in a very public way is Warren Buffett. I published recently a full portfolio overview with his latest moves on my blog.

Sometimes I get inspired by his investments when I don’t have enough ideas what to buy. Today I like to show you the best yielding stocks of his portfolio: I made a list of his best yielding shares from his latest billionaire’s fund. Of his 41 stock holdings pay 29 dividends. The highest yielding stock is still GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a British drug company. Its dividend yield is 6.12 percent. The top stocks are a mix of drugs, newspapers and electric utilities.

In total, he own 41 stocks with a total portfolio worth of USD 75,313,620,000. Buffett bought two new companies and added ten additional stocks to his fund. The most important buy was Wells Fargo and DaVita HealthCare Partners. Both stocks affected his portfolio by more than 0.5 percent.

Buy Big Dividend Paying Stocks - Warren Buffett’s Best Yielding Fund Holdings

Warren Buffett - Berkshire Hathaway Q3/2012 Fund Investing Strategies By Dividend Yield – Stock Capital, Investment. Buying big dividend stocks is one of my favorite claims. A great investor who followed this approach successfully is Warren Buffett. I made a list of his best yielding stocks from his latest reported billionaire’s fund - Berkshire Hathaway. From his 38 stocks pay 28 dividends. The highest yielding stock is GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), a British drug company. Its dividend yield is 5.32 percent. The top stocks are a mix of drugs, oil & gas and newspaper businesses.

As of Q3/2012 (September 30, 2012), Warren Buffett’s has 38 stocks with a total portfolio worth of USD 75.326 billion. Buffett bought four new companies and added eight additional stocks. The most important buy was caused by Wells Fargo and Deere. WFC was increased by 2.8 percent. Both buys affected his portfolio only by around 0.5 percent. His stake in General Motors was doubled as well as the stake in National Oilwell Varco. As you can see, the average yield of his dividend stocks is 2.44 percent – not a very high value. It makes definitely sense to give up yield for growth and value.
