38 Dividend Growth Utilities With A Solid Finance Basis Or Earnings Growth
If there is one thing every
investor can appreciate, it is a growing stream of reliable dividends. With the
Federal Reserve aiming to raise rates in December, the rate sensitive stocks
have seen some price declines.
One of those rate
sensitive sectors is the utility sector. To help investors find some of the
best companies in the sector, I began researching those utility stocks with at
least 5 straight years of dividend increases. 54 companies are part of the
results. That's a huge number which I want to reduce by implementing higher
restrictions. More about this method can be read below.
Some investors
like to build their dividend growth portfolio with very different strategies.
One trick that I have found can help investors stay on track is to mentally
consider the costs they will need to pay each month of their life and to set a
goal for covering those costs with dividend income.
There is a
beautiful irony in being able to cover the costs an investor faces in their
life with a dividend check from the same company that is selling them a
product. When it comes to the utility companies, it makes sense to have a more
diversified portfolio rather than simply owning the utility that covers the
investor's primary residence.
The simple
geographic risk of a natural disaster impacting the company and the investor's
life at the same time makes it ideal to use a portfolio with at least a few
different utility companies, even when the investor wants to use a utility
dividend check to pay for their cost.
Utilities are mostly not diversified but you can do it on your own by investing smaller amounts into several sub-industries.
I've created two charts from my dividend growth utility database. The first table lists all utilities with a debt-to-equity ratio below one. I think its also important to have a look at financial ratios, especially when rates go up in the near future.
The second chart
gives an overview of dividend growth utilities with a predicted 5% earnings growth
for the next five years. It's a more bullish view on future earnings.

Buy Low, Sell High: 11 Top Yielding Dividend Stocks To Buy When You Sell Your High Beta Stuff
March of next year will mark the seventh anniversary of the beginning of one of the longest bull market runs in history that came out of the Great Recession lows of March 2009.
While many claim that this has indeed been a secular bull market since then, the reality is that until the market blew past the double top level of 1,500 in May of 2013, we were really just filling in a monumental hole. With that in mind, the bull run is getting tired, and three very distinct signs of a market top are showing up.
So what do investors do with bond yields still at historical lows? It’s time to think about selling the high-beta momentum stocks that lurk in portfolios and move to more conservative blue chip companies that pay dividends.
Attached you can find a few ideas of stocks that pay good dividends and offer attractive yields while having low beta ratios.
These are the results....

32 Stocks Raised Dividends Last Week | Oil & Gas Companies Are Big Players
I believe that companies with rising dividends should have a well running business and could have a better performance in the long-run. Below is a current list of companies that have announced a dividend hike within the recent week. In total, 32 stocks and funds raised dividends of which 18 have a dividend growth of more than 10 percent. The average dividend growth amounts to 25.33 percent.
Below the top dividend growth stocks are eight with a high yield. 16 companies are currently
recommended to buy or even have a strong buy rating.
If I scroll through the list,
I find many oil and gas companies as well as financial stocks. Banks pay more dividends
in order to establish pre-financial crises level. Well, that’s still far away.
Oil & Gas pipeline operators raised dividends very continuously in the past. They benefit
from the fact that America experiences a new oil rush with shale gas and shale oil.
The new energy sources must be transported with an infrastructure that does not exist for the time being.
It could be more interesting to look at railroad stocks. I try to make a screen in the near future. What are your thoughts about the lastest dividend growth stocks? Do you own some of them? Would you buy one of them? Please let me know and leave a comment in the box below!

20 Stocks To Buy | The Most Recommended Utilities At The Market
Utilities
with a buy or better rating originally published at "long-term-investments.blogspot.com". Some investors love
utilities, others hate them. I am somewhere in the middle. I never invested money
into the utility sector because I know that strong growth is nearly impossible
at low investment cots. So you should not get a quick big return.
The only chance to make a little money is with time optimized stock trading. But that's to complicated for me and means hard work. I love it to buy some high-quality growth stocks to receive the dividends without keeping an eye on anything and having fun with my live.
The good thing on utilities is that they generate stable cash flows and they can use the incoming money to pay high dividends and repurchase own shares. I believe that it makes more sense to buy bonds of those companies because if the company jumps into trouble the dividend payments and share buyback programs will be reduced as first. The bondholders suffer at the end.

However, I like to show you today which utilities
are the most recommended at the market. I made a small list of the 20 best
stocks which excludes stocks with a market capitalization below USD 2 billion because
I personally think the risk should be much higher as for mid-capitalized
stocks.
Below the 20 hottest utilities are sixteen with a
dividend; two are high-yields.
