George Soros’s Biggest Dividend Stock Buys As Of Q1/2013

He is a hedge fund manager who serves around $8.56 billion in 207 stocks. Last quarter, he added 74 new companies. It’s very interesting to see how big investors act because if they move, the market changes. The amounts are really big when they decide to place a 1 percent stake.

Today I like to look at the biggest dividend stock buys from George Soros. George is a real speculator. His 20 biggest changes had an impact to his portfolio between 0.34 percent and 1.3 percent. Only eight of his 20 biggest stock buys pay dividends.

20 Mega Caps And Their Dividend Payments

Mega capitalized stocks and their dividends originally published at "long-term-investments.blogspot.com". I often talk about large capitalized stocks and that they might offer a lower risk than small or micro caps.

It’s my general experience because I saw their business models and know that large capitalized companies are a compilation of several small and mid caps. Look at Procter & Gamble. They have a huge brand portfolio under the P&G corporate brand and a big part of them generate sales over a billion U.S. Dollar and employs thousands of people.

I believe that a compilation of 10 or 20 mid caps could be a better investment for investors because they can benefit from the corporate diversification. For sure, the price they pay is a lower performance compared to pureblooded stocks with a single business model. Stable dividends and systematic growth is my major focus and most of them are generated by higher capitalized stocks. That's the result of my research.

Today I like to give you an overview of the yields from mega caps. Those are companies with a market capitalization above the USD 200 billion mark. Only 20 listed companies have such a big market capitalization and 18 of them pay good dividends; 16 have a buy or better recommendation.

George Soros's Biggest Dividend Stock Holdings

George Soros’s Quantum Fund Portfolio Summary Originally published at “long-term-investments.blogspot.com”. Warren Buffett is a very popular and famous investor which I cover on my blog. Another big investment guru with a proven track record is George Soros.

George Soros is the founder of Soros Fund Management. In 1970 he co-founded the Quantum Fund with Jim Rogers and Christoper Ink, which created the bulk of the Soros fortune. Legendary was his currency speculation against the British Bank of England:

On September 16, 1992, Soros's fund sold short more than USD 10 billion worth of pounds sterling, profiting from the Bank of England's reluctance to either raise its interest rates to levels comparable to those of other European Exchange Rate Mechanism countries or to float its currency. Finally, the Bank of England withdrew the currency from the European Exchange Rate Mechanism, devaluing the pound sterling. Soros earned an estimated worth of USD 1.1 billion in the process. He was dubbed "the man who broke the Bank of England." UK Treasury estimated the total costs of Black Wednesday at GBP 3.4 billion in 1997.

Linked is a top 20 list of his investment top positions as of December 31, 2012. Soros Fund Management LLC were valued at $5.37 billion. Below his 20 top positions are eleven with dividend payments.

I personally follow the activities from Warren Buffett. He is a highly trusted investor with a proven long-term track record. I also look at Carl Ichan’s (estimated net worth of USD 20 billion) stock purchases because he is one younger investor who can replace Warren Buffett's presence one day.

Both have a different view on the capital market but they are very successful in the way how they act. These two guys are only an example of people who have build a great career on Wall-Street and developed to a top investment guru.

Investment gurus are asset or fund managers with big amounts of cash under management. They became popular by big returns and spectacular investment strategies. I also talk about investors like George Soros. They all have one thing in common: The average return beats the market and if they invest, the market follows.

I don’t follow them in detail but they are part of the screening results and due to their big influence, it makes sense to look at what they do.

My Best Technology Stock Picks For 2013

Every time, I am searching for the best investment opportunities at the market. The year goes by and I have to consider ideas for the next year. Today, I like to focus on technology, a field that is very underweighted in my private portfolio. I am looking for growth stocks with cheap price ratios and high-quality margins. That’s why I screened the technology sector by stocks with a forward P/E ratio of less than 15, a sales growth over the past five years of more than 10 percent as well as an operating margin above 10 percent. In order to exclude low capitalized stocks, the market capitalization should be over USD 10 billion.

Exactly thirteen stocks fulfilled these criteria of which nine technology stocks pay dividends – Eight have a buy or better recommendation.
